Upton Grange Teams Strike to Perfection

At the Massachusetts State Grange 2015 Bowling Tournament, Upton Grange and Upton Junior Grange teams both won First place in their divisions.

The Grange is the oldest Non-profit family organization in Upton. Grangers began meeting in 1880s at the Grange Hall, on 26 School Street, formerly the town’s first school built-in 1858.

Unlike many other social organizations, the Grange’s structure allows every member of the family, from school aged children to great-grandparents, an equal voice. Family is one of the cornerstones on which the Grange was built. Family values in farm, rural and suburban communities are promoted, taught, and woven into Grange activities and events.

For generations, people have credited their involvement in the Grange with personal growth, character development, leadership skills and confidence. Community Service is an integral part of the Grange and they have an active scholarship program.

The Massachusetts State Grange Bowling Tournament was held at Spencer’s Bayberry Lanes on March 15th. The event was sponsored by the MA. State Youth Committee, led by Tracee Perkins. Grangers donated diapers and all money raised from the event went to the local DCF office in Whitinsville for Foster children.
