Upton Candidates Night

On Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 7:00 pm the Upton Bloomer Girls are sponsoring an opportunity to meet the candidates running for offices in the Annual Town Election (Monday, May 4, 2015).  All candidates are invited to give a brief statement and respond to questions from the audience.  This event will take place at Upton Town Hall in the Main Hall.  It will be recorded and broadcast on Upton Cable (channel 192) the week preceding the Election.  All Upton residents are welcome.

Candidates

Frank Aniello is challenging sitting Selectman Robert Fleming for the three-year seat.

Tanna Jango is running unchallenged for the three-year seat on the School Committee to replace Russo. Tanna was placed on the committee this year by the Selectmen when member Grace Maneri resigned before the end of the term. The one year seat Jango currently fills will be vacant on the ballot. The seat Tanna is running for is currently filled by Chris Russo who will not be seeking another term.

Stephen Matellian will run for a vacant, two-year Finance Committee seat.

The three-year Assessors of Taxes seat will be vacant on the ballot as incumbent Charles Marsden has not filed for re-election.

The people are running for non contended seats.

Glenn Fowler – Cemetery Commission (one year)

Alfred Holman – Health Board member (three years)

Rena Richard – Housing Authority member (five years)

Thomas Davidson – Planning Board member (five years)

Kenneth Glowacki – Commissioner of Trust Funds (three years

Library trustees – Joseph McMahon, John Robertson and Laurie Wodin have all filed to retain their three-year seats.
