April is National Grange Month. Our local Grange recognizes an outstanding Upton citizen each year. Last year Barbara Burke was named Upton’s outstanding citizen of 2014. On Thursday, April 16, Upton Grange will honor Donald “Doug” Keniston as the 2015 Citizen of the year. The Grange will also honor all veterans in attendance. Upton Grange will hold a “Patriot’s Day” Program for all Upton Veterans. Patriots’ Day is a Massachusetts state holiday on the third Monday of April. The day commemorates the American Revolutionary battles fought near Boston in 1775 and was a major step in the independence of the United States. Paul Revere is one of the patriots, but all veterans are Patriots of the USA! Light refreshments will be served. The celebration will be held at the Upton VFW at 7:00 pm. All veterans and their families are welcome
