Robin Fahey from Mendon is running the Boston Marathon for the second time this year as a member of the “Team Running for Cover”. She is running to raise funds and to support the Melanoma Foundation of New England.
In 2004 Robin’s husband James was diagnosed and treated for melanoma. He was cancer free for several year however in 2010 the cancer returned and today he is winning the fight against the disease thanks to an experimental treatment.
Fahey said on her fundraising page, “Unfortunately, all too many of us are impacted by cancer. I cannot change what happened to my family, but I can help support the Melanoma Foundation of New England (MFNE) with its mission is to reduce the incidents of melanoma in the New England region through education, prevention and early detection. ”
