All is WELL at Miscoe Hill

On Monday April 13 Miscoe Hill experienced a short period of water discoloration late in the school day as a result of flushing the system after a faulty valve was repaired. The problem was resolved later that afternoon.

According to Miscoe Hill’s Principal Ann Meyer the faulty valve was causing the water pressure to fluctuate. The well itself continued to produce water and the well pump was functioning without issue.

“We did have a slight water discoloration that day during the second half of the day when the system re-pressurized itself. The day was almost done for the students (it was almost 2:00 and we start dismissing at 2:32). The next day the water was clear,” said Meyer.

Meyer reported the school did lose water pressure in some of the rest rooms but there was always other working restrooms in the building for staff and students. According to Meyer at no time was the cafeteria affected.

Bob Bostwick , Mass DEP Section Chief of the Drinking Water Program, was satisfied with the resolution of the issue.
