The Upton Land Stewardship Committee will be doing field restoration and exposing overgrown stonewalls at Stefans Farm. This is a beautiful property with a variety of habitats and a great view of Pratt Hill. By joining in, you’ll be working at one of Upton’s special places. If you’re up for some outdoor work and have an hour or two to spare, bring yourself and a set of clippers. Work hours are between 9 AM and 2PM. Come for an hour or come for a longer stretch.
Park by the Community Garden on Mechanic Street, Upton (near the power lines).
Water, work gloves and insect repellant are recommended. Wear clothing suited to the weather and the work. Eye protection is required.
If you expect to be there please RSVP to: UptonLandStewardship@charter.net and let us know which hours. This will help plan the work and to let you know if there is a cancellation. Lunch will be provided. Heavy rain cancels.
If you have an interest in helping with trail work or other aspects of land stewardship but aren’t usually available for meetings and work dates, consider being a Land Steward for a favorite ULSC managed property. Send a note to the e-mail address above.
