A funeral procession for Army Corporal John M. Dawson will leave Carr Funeral Home at 10 AM on Monday April 20 and proceed to Saint Gabriel’s Church traveling along Pleasant Street and Mendon Street in Upton. After the funeral mass the procession will return on the same route to Pine Grove Cemetery.
The Upton Police Department has advised all residents Pleasant Street and Mendon Street will be closed for the funeral procession from 10:00 am-11:00 am, and from approximately 12:30 pm-1:30 pm.
The roads will be closed to ALL traffic, including residential and business traffic, during the specified times. Residents should expect delays and are asked to plan their travel accordingly.
Upton residents wishing to pay their respects to Corporal Dawson are asked to line the procession route on Pleasant Street near Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School (BVT).
In honor and in memory of Corporal Dawson service BVT decoared their property with American Flags and yellow ribbons. Many residents who live along the procession trail have also placed American Flags on their property.
