The town of Upton paid their final respects to Corporal John Dawson, a local soldier killed in Afghanistan. The 22-year-old Dawson was killed April 8 in Jalalabad, Afghanistan when he was attacked by small arms fire while he was on an escort mission.
Residents lined Pleasant Street, stood in silence, and saluted as the funeral procession passed on route to Saint Gabriel’s church.
