Twenty six volunteers worked at Upton State Forest this past weekend – not all volunteers pictured
On Saturday April 25, the Friends of Upton State Forest held their annual spring work party at Upton State Forest. Volunteers met at the headquarters near the intersection of Westborough and planted, and raked, and raked, and raked some more.
The day began with CCC Alumnus, Frank Evans raising the flag over the CCC Camp. According to the Friends of Upton State Forest Frank has been at every work party since the beginning.
The Friends appreciate all the help and donations they received.
“The Friends of Upton State Forest are grateful for everyone that came to give back to the park. Twenty six people donated a total of 89 hours. The value of the work, and the donation of lunch, and flowers, by the Friends have a dollar value of $2652.21! Many of the volunteers are members of the Friends of Upton State Forest and Bay State Trail Riders Association. We are also grateful to the staff members of the Department of Conservation and Recreation who work to maintain our parks every day. We appreciate their cooperative spirit and our partnership.” ~ Friends of Upton State Forest
