Northbridge PD and Uxbridge PD report similar attempted abductions

uptondaily1pngUpton Daily reported earlier today that the Uxbridge Police Department advised residents of an attempted abduction which took place on April 29 at approximately 3 p.m. Upton Daily has now learned a similar incident took place in Northbridge.

Uxbridge Police say,  “A juvenile was approached by a male in a grey, mid 90’s sedan, four door with a red MA license plate. The vehicle had a rectangle sticker on the left lower rear window. The contact the victim had was verbal only.” The male appeared to be in his 60’s and was wearing a grey hat and glasses, and was light-skinned, according to the Uxbridge Police.

Northbridge Police report a similar happened in Northbridge yesterday. “A young girl was approached by a man in a gray vehicle. Every parent should speak with their kids about this. If you see something suspicious give your local police dept a call. If it is safe please try and get a plate number.  If it is not safe to do the most important thing is to run away and get to safety,” say Northbridge Police.

  1. Hi Jennifer: I really enjoy receiving these updates and look forward to living in Upton later this year. I grew up in Natick and have lived in California since 1979, but am retiring soon and it’s time to move “home” to Massachusetts. Upton seems like a wonderful community and these emails help me understand what’s going on in Upton and the surrounding communities.

    Keep up the good work!

    Joan
