Mendon override vote stats

uptondaily1pngForward 15 worked diligently to get out the vote in Mendon prior to the proposition 2.5 override and were disappointed with the outcome, a no vote for the school budget request.

Of the 1,331 voters 606 voted in favor of the override while 717 voted against with 8 not voting on the question at all. .

Prior to the annual town election, Forward 15 had identified 415 registered voters who committed to vote yes; according to their research 90 of those voters did show up on election day. The group also noted of the 450 voters identified as potentially being in favor of the override only fifty percent voted.

The organization has been working hard to drive out the vote in Upton; with Mendon voting no there is concern among supporters that yes voters may decide to sit this one out.

The group has been busy making phone calls this past weekend reminding Upton voters in favor of the override that every vote does count.
