On June 12, the Town of Grafton announced the Grafton and Upton Railroad (GURR) will be moving two of their LPG tanks to Grafton via rail from Hopedale to Grafton on Sunday June 14 sometime in the late afternoon/evening.
“There may be a potential for traffic delays at railroad crossings,” said the Town of Grafton.
A call to Doug Pizzi, the GURR spokesperson, to obtain additional details was not immediately returned.
The two tanks will be moved to the GURR LP Terminal located on Westborough Road in Grafton. Each tank is approximately 120 feet long (distance of a 40 yard field goal kick) and 34 feet in circumference. Each tank has the capacity to hold 80,000 gallons of propane.
The Upton Police Department is aware the tanks will be moving through town sometime later this afternoon/evening.
