UPTON: Chad Hall, 50, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2015 with the support of his loving family after battling cancer. Born July 16, 1965, Chad was the son of Dr. Judy Estes Hall of Bethesda, Maryland and Dr. Robert Hall of Annapolis, Maryland.
Chad is survived by his parents, his beloved wife, Erin (Neighmond) Hall and his cherished daughters, Meghan and Jenell.
Chad attended Bethlehem Central School District in Delmar, NY and graduated from Clear Creek Secondary School in Idaho Springs, Colorado. After high school Chad enlisted in the Army. He received an honorable discharge as a Sergeant with the 54th Ordnance Detachment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal).
He attended Union College graduating with a BS in Physics and MS in Electrical Engineering. During that time Chad studied at that ETH University in Zürich.
For 15 years Chad worked at General Electric in Schenectady in the generator department in various roles. In 2004, Chad and his family moved to Austria as he became the Engineering Manager for GE Jenbacher. Upon return to the U.S. Chad worked for GE Security/UTC in Salem, Oregon. In 2012, Chad and his family returned to the east coast, where he worked as the Director of Engineering and Quality for the UTC Company, Kidde Fenwal in Ashland, Massachusetts. Chad truly enjoyed his time at Kidde Fenwal.
Chad was proud of his volunteer efforts with the Eagle Matt Lee firehouse in Ballston Spa, New York where he worked as a second lieutenant. Always dear to his heart was his mentoring years to 5th graders at Oneida Middle School in Schenectady, New York. Chad also volunteered to help out the lighting production for the Schenectady Civics Players.
All are invited to gather with Chad’s family and friends Sunday July 26th from 2 to 4 PM followed by a Remembrance service at 4pm in the funeral home.
