UPTON – Rachel H. (Lemoine) Rivard, 89, formerly of Grafton and Upton, died early Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Donald A. Rivard, who died in 1985.Mrs. Rivard was born in Grafton, the daughter of the late Hormedas and Bertha (Cardin) Lemoine. She grew up in Grafton and lived in Upton for 50 years, where she was a communicant of the former Holy Angels Parish and a straw hat maker in the West Upton hat industry for over 30 years.
She leaves a son, Bruce D. Rivard of Upton; two daughters, Janis A. Malkasian of Uxbridge, and Brenda A. O’Connor of Plymouth; one brother, Leo Lemoine of Mendon; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were under the direction of Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home of Upton (www.uptonfunerals.com) with a funeral mass in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church and burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton on Wednesday, July 22. At her request, there were no calling hours.
