Daisy is Southwick’s Zoo 6′ 145 pound infant Giraffe who suffered from complications during the birthing process requiring her to receive treatment at the  Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University located in Grafton, MA. Daisy was born on Saturday January 11, 2014

This morning Betsey Brewer of Southwick’s Zoo said, “We are still waiting on positive feedback from Tufts, however she is better.” Yesterday the zoo had reported Daisy’s white cell count was very low and asked their Facebook friends to say a pray for Daisy.

Good news came this afternoon when Southwick’s Zoo posted on their Facebook page, “Daisy is doing much better, and we expect that her health will improve each day! She is getting stronger and her white blood cell count is increasing.”

Southwick’s Zoo has a beautiful Giraffe exhibit and fans of Southwick’s are looking forward to meeting Daisy this spring.
