Parents were concerned earlier today with parking procedures at Miscoe Hill after hearing a parent had been ticketed while ‘standing’ in the fire zone (details here).
“No changes at Miscoe Hill” Mrs. Meyer replied in an email. After a meeting between Mrs. Meyer and the Mendon Police Department it was decided the Mendon Police Department “will not be giving any tickets for the unofficial procedure we have now.” Mrs Meyer explained. ” The Mendon PD understands it is safer for our children to get in their parent’s cars in front of the building instead of the parking lots, which are a bit away from the school.”
“Stopping while staying in the vehicle to drop off or pick up is acceptable and safe.” At no time should someone park in the fire lane and leave their cars.
Mrs Meyers said “we will continue as we have been doing.”
