Upton Fire Department in Action – updated 3:30 p.m.

The Upton Fire Department is extinguishing what appears to be a small brush fire between Main and Pleasant street. This is behind a home which is across the street from Memorial School… Memorial School parents there is no need to be concerned the fire is small, across the street from the school and a good distance behind the house. The fire appears to be contained.

At 3:30 on Friday I spoke with Assistant Fire Chief Mike Marchand who explained the fire was an out of control permit fire which covered approximately a 50 by 50 foot area which took approximately 45 minute to put out.
