At 5 p.m. on Friday Nipmuc Principal, John Clements, took to the stage to kick off Promenade. First he thanked all the volunteers and sponsors who made After Prom possible. Every year a group of volunteers work together to transform the school in to another world; they keep the theme a secret from the students and apparently Mr. Clements. Mr. Clements was proud to announce Nipmuc High School was one of the first schools to host an After Prom Party to keep our students safe and has kept the traditional going for 20 years.
Promenade is a wonderful tradition; the couples/individuals are announced one at a time, they walk to the center of the stage, pose for a quick photo and move on. Some students have a little fun; the boy spins the girl, or they have a unique pose but all the students have huge smiles and you can feel the excitement in the air.
After Promenade the students went to Union Station in Worcester for dinner/dancing and ended the evening at Nipmuc High School… more on After Prom will be coming in another post.
What a stunning group.
