The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the possibility of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening and these storms bring a low probability of a tornado. Those with outdoor plans should be prepared to find shelter immediately if thunderstorms approach. When thunder roars, go indoors. Heavy rain is expected with the storms.
The heat wave is expected to be over with the passing of the storms.
