Upton Fire Department Responds to Lightning Strike Monday June 17

IMG_6586[1]Early last night a line of strong thunderstorms pushed through Upton with frequent sky to ground lightening.  At 6:18 last night the Upton Fire Department responded to a lightning strike at 17 Prospect Street.  On arrival the home owners reported lightning hit the house and sparks were seen coming from the roof. Upton Fire-EMS Chief Goodale reports, “There was obvious lightning damage to the yard and to electrical systems in the house.We checked and found a light smell of smoke in the attic. We checked the roof with the aerial ladder but no fire or obvious damage.”
