Who is sending their child to school on Monday?

fireworks (1)Good Morning Upton!

With the hurricane and all the snow the school district ended up tacking a bunch of days to the end of the school year, making the last day of school Monday June, 24; a scheduled 1/2 day. The high school 1/2 day schedule rotates through all the classes making each class about 20 minutes. My daughter is “reporting” one of her teachers told the class if they show up for school for the last day and make her sit in the classroom she will just sit there and laugh at them.  Needless to say there has been a lot of negotiating in the Doyle house for my high school student to stay home;  it’s not going to happen (sorry sweetie.)

What are you doing? Are your kids skipping the last day of school?

Take the poll!

  1. My nephew said that his teachers were telling them that they don’t have to show up and it wont count against them. He feels torn, wish they would have sent something home. He is in miscoe.

  2. Unfortunately my daughter HAS to miss her last day of school and 8th grade graduation, as we had planned our family vacation in January and even built in 5 days incase of snow! She will be in England, then touring France, Switzerland and a day in Italy! Otherwise, YES, she would have been in school, its only 1/2 day! and was Graduation!

  3. My youngest just went back today after being home sick for three days. You bet he’s going. And besides, he’s at Memorial and it’s Memorial Idol that day. He’s joke teller in between acts. Another reason why he’s going. As for my high schooler , she’s said nothing about skipping Monday, not yet anyway!.

  4. The last day is when they can have fun (at least in most classes, I hope!). They don’t have any work to do. They can socialize with their friends/classmates (and sometimes the teachers)!
