Nancy Ann (Prendergast) LeBrun, 77 – Founder of the Upton Women’s Club

Nancy Ann (Prendergast) LeBrun, 77, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2013 at the Legacy Hopewell House Hospice in Oregon. A native of Watertown, Massachusetts, Nancy is the daughter of the late Leo and Ruth (Gibson) Prendergast. Nancy is predeceased by her brother, John Leo Prendergast, and is survived by her sister, June Nussbaumer ( Muttenz Switzerland), her five children; John F. LeBrun (Portland OR), Mary Ruth Reynolds (Milford MA), Jayne E. Buteau (Millbury MA), James L. LeBrun (Frisco TX) and Thom P. LeBrun (Ayer MA) who were raised in Upton, MA. She has four grandchildren; Josilynn and Jacob Reynolds, Ryan LeBrun, and Nicole LeBrun.

Nancy was a devoted mother and retired as an executive from EG&G Inc. where she was proud to bring the finance office into the computer age. Nancy was a founding member for the Mother’s Club in Upton, MA (now known as the Women’s Club), established to improve the schools for the betterment of the children.

Nancy was an avid bird watcher, watching from her own back yard, spending many hours on Cape Cod’s National Seashore and via Web cam in Iowa. Family and friends will celebrate her life this summer on a Whale Watch where her ashes will be released into the ocean. In lieu of flowers to the family send a donation to The Raptor Resource Project, PO Box 16, Decorah, IA 52101.
