The Friends of Upton State Forest will host Trina Moruzzi who will present a program about river otters and fishers. Trina is a wildlife biologist with the Mass Division of Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation from UMass Amherst.
River Otters and Fisher Cats are larger species of the weasel family which reside in the area. Moruzzi will talk about what these often mysterious animal are, where you can find them, what they eat, how they behave, and what signs you might see when they are present.
The presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 18 at Nipmuc Regional High School in the Professional Development Center (PDC) at 7 p.m.
The program is free and open to the public. Nipmuc Regional High School is located at 90 Pleasant Street, Upton, MA.
