Free Fitness Program Aims to Promote Good Health and Wellness – Welcome Upton Fit Club

IMG_7501Jo-Ellen McCarrick of Upton and Jim Burnard of Sutton, MA are launching the Upton Fit Club.  The Upton Fit Club is a free community based program, which will be held at the United Parish Church, One Central Square (corner of Main and Church St. in Upton) on Thursday mornings at 9:30 am.  The program will begin on October 10 (no class on October 31 and December 19th).  Advance registration is required.

“The idea behind the Upton Fit Club is simple,” says Mr. Burnard.  “It is designed to end the trend of obesity. The goal is to help people understand that they don’t need an expensive gym membership or fancy equipment to become healthy and fit.” Beachbody coaches, McCarrick and Burnard will provide the information, motivation and support people need to decide, commit and succeed in their journey to a healthy lifestyle.

The Fit Club will meet once a week for approximately an hour to do a workout from a popular fitness routine (i.e., Focus T25, P90X, Insanity, Turbo-Fire, Turbo Jam, Power 90, Asylum, Body Gospel, etc.) These workouts will be held FREE of charge to the public. Pre-registration is required to control the amount of attendees. No weights or exercise equipment will be needed. The only requirement is comfortable clothing, good shoes, water and a towel.

Following the workouts, McCarrick and Burnard will often offer a sampling of Beachbody nutritional products, such as Shakeology, Results and Recovery Formula, Energy and Endurance Formula, P90X Peak Performance Protein Bars, etc.  They will also be available to answer questions related to health and fitness.

“The goal is for people to have someone they can go to for support,” says McCarrick.  “Jim and I work with people not only during the meetings, but offer support outside the Fit Club as well. If someone needs additional support and motivation, we are there for them free of charge.”

    1. Hi Scook! We are launching a Thursday morning program first and we’ll see how it goes. Our long range plan is to offer additional times so that we can accommodate more people in town and the surrounding communities.
