Sports equipment needed for North Brookfield school destroyed by fire – ‘A Little Common Sense’ in Upton collecting supplies

Lisa Stratton owner of ‘A Little Common Sense’ in Upton recently set up a collection box for items for the North Brookfield school which was destroyed by a afire. You can find out more information about the school and fire by  reading this article.

Lisa wrote on October 27, “We had a great showing of support today at the store and filled a box with supplies, and also collected some cash and gift card donations. These will all be delivered to the school in the morning. We will be collecting all week and will post about any other specific needs. Red Cross is helping with lots of personal items and clothing and the local public HS is providing meals since this building housed the cafeteria as well. Yesterday and today we collected a mountain of school supplies for these students!! I’m so happy to be a part of such a caring community!! At this point, I think we’re all set with the school supplies…. and will post again if there’s a specific need. Right now the focus is on a much LARGER need… construction of temporary housing of the displaced students! THANK YOU ALL for your generous donations, and suggestions for office trailers/modular classrooms, etc!basically, there was a fire last night in which 20 kids lost ALL of their school supplies… and classes are scheduled to resume on Monday!”

There is still a need for SPORTS EQUIPMENT. Here is a list in order of need.

*hockey sticks
*street hockey balls
*footballs
*soccer balls
*hockey skates

*PING PONG TABLE (will make arrangements for pickup!!)

These will be accepted all week at A Little Common Sense located 8 North Main Street in Upton.
