Cecile M. “Cis” (Ducharme) Wood, 89, died peacefully at home on Wed., Nov. 6, 2013. She was the widow of Earl C. Wood, who died in 1997 after 48 years of marriage.
Mrs. Wood was born in Morrisville, VT, a daughter of the late Julian J. and Minnie (LaPan) Ducharme. She lived in Upton for 70 years and had been a hat worker in the West Upton hat industry for many years, retiring in 1967.
She leaves three nephews, Alan E. Bessette and his wife Arleen of Saint Marys, GA, David Bessette of Marietta, GA, and Philip E. Bessette of Morrisville, VT; and a niece, Doris Biache of Trenton, NJ. She was the sister of the late Vicky Foster and Gloria Bessette.
Funeral services will be held Wed., Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Upton Ambulance Fund, Box 29, Upton 01568.
