Don’t Text and Drive – Distracted Driving Kills

krissyandbob1This is my future sister-in-law Krissy with her Dad, Bob. Isn’t this a great photo?

This photo makes me smile and cry at the same time.  As I look at the photo I can feel the love they have for each other.  I see a daughter who loves and admires her Dad and a Dad who loves his family. The tears come from knowing how much Krissy misses her Dad.

Two years ago today Krissy’s life was changed forever when her Dad was killed by a “distracted” driver. Her Dad was on his way home from work when his life was taken away from him so tragically. The other driver was 20 years old, crossed the yellow line and crashed into her Dad’s car head on.  In one instant, without notice, her Dad was gone at the hands of this driver.

What was so important on December 12, 2011 to that 20-year-old that he had to take his eyes off the road long enough to drive completely into the other lane?

What you do behind the wheel matters and distracted driving kills. Think about this as you drive. Is finding a phone number, searching for your favorite song, checking a text, or plugging a restaurant into your GPS that important?

Save a life and take the time to pullover.
