Could the approaching winter weather extend winter break?

snowIf you haven’t been paying attention to the weather you may not know the weather men are getting very excited about a possible nor’easter to hit this area at the end of the week.

There are two storms which are predicted to combine in this area on Thursday morning with the potential for a major snowstorm.  The questions are, how quickly the storms merge, how much snow, and will there be enough to call off school on Thursday and Friday?

According to Alex Sosnowski, an Expert Senior Meteorologist, “The snowier of two scenarios would suggest that New England will be hit with a powerful nor’easter that produces blizzard conditions, damaging winds and coastal flooding.”  This storm has the potential to produce a foot of snow by late Friday.

Even if the storms don’t combine as quickly as predicted this will still be a sizable storm. Accuweather Seniro Meterologist Brett Anderson said, “At the very least, enough snow to shovel and plow seems likely for much of New England during Thursday into Friday.”

Tell the kids not to get too excited yet, we all know how accurate weather predictions are in New England, and it’s only Tuesday. BUT if the weather predictions are accurate the kids might be enjoying an extended holiday.
