Friends of Upton Town Library Raising Funds for New Circulation Desk

The Friends of Upton Town Library are hoping the community will help them raise the funds needed to purchase a  new circulation desk for the Upton Town Library through an online fundraiser.

At a town meeting the community approved funds for the renovation project taking place at the Upton Town Library. The project includes replacing the carpet, painting the walls, updating the floor plan, and repairing a damp basement which was causing mold growth in the building. Unfortunately the project presented to the town did not include purchasing a new circulation desk and this is why the Friends have organized the online fundraiser.

According to the Friends of Upton Town Library the circulation desk is built into the current library floor and cannot be reused after it is removed during the renovation.

The Friends of the Upton Town Library are looking for donations to purchase materials. They are also looking for a local carpenter to build the new desk that will fit the new floor plan; anyone who might be interested should to contact Matthew Bachtold, Library Director, at 508-529-6272.

If you would like to make a donation to help fund the new circulation desk visit the Friends of Upton Library Blog where you can find out more about the project and find the link to their online fundraiser.
