Daisy and Molly say Hello – courtesy of Southwick’s Zoo
Daisy the baby Giraffe is finally home and doing well after spending a few days in the ICU at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Grafton.
Daisy was born on January 11 and due to some complications during the birthing process was required to spend a few days in the ICU. Southwick’s Zoo was worried about Daisy because her white blood count was very low. On January 13 Southwick’s was happy to announce to their followers that Daisy was doing much better and anticipated to get better each day.
Today Daisy was able to check out of the hospital and into her home at Southwick’s. She also met her first fellow Giraffe, her cousin Molly.
Daisy’s mom is Dotty, another Giraffe at Southwick’s.
Southwick’s Zoo has a beautiful Giraffe exhibit and fans of Southwick’s are looking forward to meeting Daisy this spring.
