Upton’s annual town election is taking place today.
This year eleven incumbents are running unopposed and there are three positions where there will be no candidate on the ballot. On election day, Monday May 5, 2014, the ballot spot for the three vacant seats will be blank, with a write in available. The person with the most write ins for each position will be offered the opportunity to fill the seat.
Last week Joe McMahon, Commander of the George L. Wood VFW Post, declared his request to be considered as a write-in candidate for the Upton Cemetery Committee.
