helenpalmerHelen Theresa Palmer, 86, of Upton, died on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at her home in Upton, while surrounded by her family. She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert E. Palmer.

She is survived by children: Anna Mae Grout, and her husband Jimmy of Loris SC, Terry Lambert of Marlboro, Deanna Blais and her husband Andy of Marlboro, Nancy Bent and her husband Richard of Marlboro, Jeannette Laucis and her husband Kenny of Upton, Robert Palmer and his wife Donna of Holden, and David Palmer and his wife Denise of Mashpee. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Donald Ross and John Ross.

Helen was born in Pittsfield, raised in Natick, the daughter of the late John and Anna Ross (Dwyer). She settled in Blackstone where she raised her family. Helen was a strong lady who was determined to succeed and was unrelenting to her cause. She found time to tend to her flowers and property while raising her seven children alone. This was something she took great pleasure and pride in doing, without a word mentioned. She found great joy in helping others. As her children grew up, she felt very blessed with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren, whom she cherished and enjoyed time with so much. She later settled in Upton where she made several friends. Helen was often found sitting outside in the shade having great conversations with them. This, along with spending time with her family was something she valued. She was very thankful of those friendships. Helen did find time to travel over the years. Some of her adventures included travel to Hawaii, taking a Caribbean Cruise and visiting the Myrtle Beach area, visiting her daughter Anna Mae. Helen’s family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Tri-Valley and equally to the hospice nurses.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at St. Patrick Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick, MA 01760. Interment will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Natick following her memorial mass. Arrangements made under the direction of John Everett & Sons Funeral Home.   http://www.everettfuneral.com/obituaries.html
