On Monday May 19, 2014 students at Memorial School hosted a Memorial Day Concert – America!

The concert included students from preschool to grade 4.

Students led invited veterans and family members in a sing-a-long of several patriotic songs including; The Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, My Country, ‘Tis of Thee, America the Beautiful, and You’re a Grand Old Flag (the kids sang that one with a lot of pep).

After the sing- a-long the Armed Forces Medley as performed by the Singing Sergeants and the U. S. Air Force Band was played at which time men and women of service were asked to stand and be recognized. The kids enjoyed this looking and cheering for service men and women and figuring out what branch they served in.

Each grade performed a special piece and said a few words.

The concert concluded with 4th graders performing Taps on their recorders with the echo performed by Eric Repiejko on  trumpet.

Here are three videos and photos from the concert.
