On August 19, 2014 the Upton Men’s Club made a $2,500 donation to Andrea Matellian and the Fire EMS Association Jaws of Life Fund Drive. Upton Fire/EMS Chief Ron Goodale said. “This generous donation by the Men’s Club is the direct result of the members of the Men’s Club recognizing Andrea’s civic achievement on behalf of the Department and the Town.”
“We are grateful to Andrea and the Men’s Club for their support,” said Chief Goodale. The donation will allow the Department to begin to order some equipment to replace the aging hydraulic tools the town currently has. “We have reached a milestone in this fundraising effort with over $21,000 raised toward our $35,000 goal,” said Chief Goodale.
The Jaw of Life fundraising efforts will continue. Chief Goodale said, “The can and bottle drive has generated an impressive amount of money as well. The outpouring of support from people not only in Upton but also from surrounding communities has been outstanding. In addition we recently received many donations in memory of a resident in Town that have helped us considerably. Thank you to all those who have been so generous donating to this fund drive.”
