Letter: The Gentleman from Upton

“The Gentleman from Upton”

Citizens from the ninth Worcester district now have the opportunity to decide who shall represent their interests on the floor of the House, that is, the Ma. House of Representatives. Upton resident Shawn Craig has stepped up to engage in that endeavor.

I am mindful that the feeling in some quarters is that all politicians care about is themselves and feathering their own nest. That view is debatable, for even the most dispirited must concede that every twenty or thirty years a good one comes along.

Shawn Craig is well educated, served in the private sector running his own business and is an overseer in the financial compliance industry. He has also served his community as a member of Upton’s Finance Committee as well as the School District’s Multi-Board.

In addition, Shawn Craig is patriotic, like my father before me he has worn the uniform of the United States Marine Corps. I think I’m right when I say he is an Iraq War veteran and I am certain that his opponent is not. I call upon the American veteran and my fellow fair-minded citizen to stand up, get up and speak up. Grant this fine young man your vote. The gentleman from Upton has my compliments.
