Mendon Street Crash Fatal

uptondaily1pngOn Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 6:54 p.m. the Upton Police and Fire Department responded to an accident near 319 Mendon Street in Upton for a two vehicle crash.

Upton Police Chief Bradley wrote in a press release, “The preliminary investigation revealed that Joseph Ambrogi, 37 years of age of Milford, was operating a 2000 Nisan south on Mendon Street.  Ambrogi’s vehicle crossed the center lane striking a 2000 GMC Sierra 3500 Pick-up truck operated by Robert Reil, 45 years of age of Northboro, who was traveling north.”

Two sets of Jaw of Life were used at the scene.

Bradley said, “Ambrogi was extricated from the vehicle by the Upton Fire Department but pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics.”

Reil was transported to Milford Regional Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Bradley said the crash in under investigation by members of the Upton Police Department and Investigators from Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction Team.

Upton Police were assisted at the scene by Hopedale Fire, Mendon Fire and Mendon Police.
