Historical Photos of Upton

A Upton Daily reader submitted these wonderful historical images of Upton.  He is hoping by sharing the photos more information about each person or place will be discovered.

Upton Historical Society member Barbara Burke was able to provide some information on the photos below. She will be doing additional research later in the year.

  1. Hi there! What a treasure to have new historical photos submitted. I can’t speak to the identity of the people but the dark house in photo #15, entitled Upton Center, is definitely the old rectory at the corner of Nelson and Warren Streets. We live across Warren Street and it’s thrilling to have a historical photo of our house! Thanks so much for posting these!

    1. Hi, Beth I just went back and looked at the photo and can now visualize where it was taken.. Thanks! Just now while looking at it I noticed a man is being pulled in what looks like flat sleigh by a horse.

      1. I just noticed the horse, too! It’s really amazing to see the landscape without all the trees we have now!
