My friend Jack Driscoll, former Massachusetts Representative, served eighteen-years with an outstanding record on legislation in the interest of taxpayers in the Commonwealth, as well as having an outstanding record in support of municipal government. Jack told me many times how he was proud of his record, and the many people that he served. Jack was a friend of former President George H. W. Bush, outgoing State Representative George N. Peterson, Jr. and myself. I always told Jack that he was lucky to have three friends named George.
I was blessed to have known Jack and his wife Connie, as they were our landlords in Northbridge. My wife, Cathy, and I last visited Jack on Saturday afternoon, June 28th, 2014, at his place in Belmont, Massachusetts. When we were about to leave he asked me, “Whom are you going to vote for State Representative, in November?” I said David Muradian, and Jack said, with a great smile, “good choice.”
Jack died July 9th of this year; I will miss both Jack and Connie. Over the years Jack told me of his years at Holy Cross College and his years in the Army Air Corps during World War II. These veterans are of a spirited generation, which we are all grateful.
In conclusion, I have to note that Jack Driscoll, years ago, gave me permission to quote one of his campaign letters, which states: “I will continue to work as a full-time legislator to respond in the best interest of everyone in our district, regardless of political persuasion. YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT- In a democracy it is the duty of every citizen to exercise their power of voting. If they do not do so and there are enough people who share this indifference, democratic ideals are in very real danger. Only if the citizens are concerned with the issues of government and elect those whom they honestly believe best qualified to handle them, can these ideals be preserved. The easiest way to ensure bad government is for good citizens to do nothing.”
I will be voting for David Muradian because of many reasons. Two of which are that I believe in him, and that my late friend Jack Driscoll did too. I hope all of you do the same, and vote for Dave on Tuesday, November 4th.
Sincerely,
George Warren

Dear Editor,
I am writing as a parent of two children that attend the Northbridge Public Schools and as a member of the Northbridge School Committee to express the importance of our vote for the next State Representative. We need to put our faith and trust in someone who is going to fight to bring local aid back to our community and that is why I am voting for David Muradian.
From day one, David has said that local aid is his number one priority. It is important for me, as a parent and a taxpayer that our town receive their fair share of local aid. Our schools are burdened by unfunded mandates, and our state seems to continuously pile them onto our school system. It is time that we say NO and make sure our children are getting the education that they deserve. David Muradian has vowed to never support an unfunded mandate, and further, fight for a change in the education funding formula so that money will be distributed in a more equitable manner. Once the town receives fair funding from the state, some of our local tax revenues can be reallocated to other needs within the town.
Mr. Muradian has further stated he will fight for the revenues brought in through the lottery system to be used as they are meant to be in funding our local aid. Currently lottery funds are being misdirected to fund other state programs and this is not the purpose of these tax dollars. They are supposed to come back to fund cities and towns, and this one party ruled state has certainly failed in that aspect. The towns need the funds promised so that local tax dollars can be used to fund other very important services such as police, fire and highway services.
Please join me in voting for a leader that will stand up for our towns on November 4th and elect David Muradian to be our full-time State Representative on Beacon Hill.
Sincerely,
Susan Massey Brouwer
Member of the Northbridge School Committee
