Grace Maneri who represented Upton on the Mendon Upton School Committee has resigned.
At the October 20, 2014 school committee meeting committee chair Leigh Martin said, “Grace was important member of team and made many contributions to our collective efforts here.”
Maneri could no longer give the district the time required. “I have thoroughly enjoyed serving on the MURSD School Committee. The dedication of those on the committee as well as the superintendent and district administrative team has been inspiring. Unfortunately, due to personal matters, I can no longer give the district the commitment it so truly deserves. I am very saddened to step down, and I am grateful for having had this opportunity,” said Maneri.
In an email district Superintendent Dr. Joseph Maruszczak said, “Per the Regional School District charter, the Upton BOS will have a call for nominations for anyone who is interested. Then all candidates will be publicly interviewed by the three selectmen and the remaining two Upton members of the school committee. Then they will vote on the best candidate (also publicly) to fill the remainder of Grace’s term.” Maneri’s term expires May 2016.
The two remaining Upton members are Chris Russo and Phil DeZutter.
