The Upton Fire Department responded to a truck fire behind 86 Main Street at approximately 10:20 yesterday.
“The truck was well involved on arrival,” said Fire/EMS Chief Ron Goodale. Due to dry leaves on the ground the fire was traveling toward a neighboring garage. “We were able to stop the fire before it got there. Our staff did a great job knocking the fire down quickly and safely and confining it to the vehicle of origin,” Goodale said.
Chief Goodale said the fire is under investigation at this time but appears to be the result of an electrical malfunction.
