Today Massport announced the Logan Express garage in Framingham is now open. The new facility has 1,100 parking spaces, which is double its previous capacity, an indoor waiting area for passengers and retail space. Massport is also running a special parking promotion at Logan Express locations.
It is expected that more than one million people will travel through Logan Airport during April vacation and with that comes limited parking for travelers. In a press release issued today Massport said once parking lots are full, customers driving to Logan will be diverted to Suffolk Downs.
Massport is urging all passengers to seek alternative transportation options.
There is some good news….starting today Logan Expres will be half price (except for Back Bay), and parking at Logan Express lots is $22 for 4-14 days. The Back Bay Logan Express remains $5 or Free with an MBTA Charlie card.
“After such a difficult winter, we expect many travelers in the next week and a half to be families who have long-planned to travel during school vacation,” said Thomas P. Glynn, Massport CEO. “We’re also looking forward to welcoming the thousands of Boston Marathon runners and fans coming into the city. We want to make sure everyone is aware of the parking situation so they can plan accordingly”
