Senate Adjourns in Memory of Specialist John Dawson

Boston- State Senators Michael Moore (D-Millbury) and Ryan Fattman (R-Webster) filed an adjournment order in memory of Spc. John Dawson, who tragically passed away in the line of duty on April 8, 2015.

The following language was read by Senate President Stan Rosenberg (D-Amherst) at the close of today’s formal session:

Mr. Fattman and Mr. Moore move that when the Senate adjourns today it does so in memory of Spc. John Dawson, of Whitinsville, who tragically passed away on April 8, 2015, while serving our country in Afghanistan, as a part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Spc. Dawson is the son of Michael and Rhonda Dawson and was raised in Whitinsville with his younger sister. He is a graduate of Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School. 

 Spc. Dawson joined the Army in 2012, serving as a combat medic for the 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team in the 101st Airborne Division air assault unit. He earned several medals and honors during his service.
