The 26th Annual Upton Police Fishing Derby will be held rain or shine on Saturday June 6, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.. No registration is required this year. Children ages 1-15 will be given free hats the day of the derby. Lunch and prizes will also be provided. The event is held at Pratt Pond, measuring stations and cook out will be at Kiwanis Beach.
The Upton Police Department is seeking donations for the derby. Police said the expenses associated with the derby continue to increase each year. “The past 25 years would not have been a success without the generous support of our community. Donations received help to cover the cost of bait, hotdogs, hamburgers, drinks, snacks, trophies and prizes that are provided free to all the children,” said the Upton PD.
