Who knew it only took a few boards of wood to get a train back on track

It’s not every day that a train derails carrying giant propane tanks in a small New England town.

The GURR train carrying two 120 foot propane tanks derailed in Grafton near the Grafton Town Common at approximately 7:00 p.m. It took crews a little over an hour to get the train back on track and moving.

Here are photos and video of crews working on the rail road in Grafton today.

  1. Quite the commotion for an hours delay. Seems the railroad people know what they’re doing. Hope they get some of the extra cooks out of the kitchen & let them do what they do…!

Reblogging yet another story from Upton Daily today. Jennifer Doyle shot photos and video of the Grafton & Upton Railroad’s derailment in the center of town. Nice work, Jen!

Hopefully, the transport of the next two tanks will go more smoothly!
