To the Editor:
The loudest voice of the “vote no” campaign, Mike Watson, has overtly acknowledged on his social media page that he is working towards dissolving the Mendon Upton Regional School District.
He is advocating a “no” vote hoping that so much harm is wrought upon Mendon that it will agitate residents into breaking up the school district.
Breaking up the district will increase immediate and long term costs far more than passing the current override will. And in the process all residents will be hurt through reduced services, among other things.
This approach does not seem very fiscally responsible or very civic-minded, two things that Mr. Watson claims he is. It’s really odd that anyone would want this to happen to a town that he claims to love, but apparently he does, all for the sake of hurting the school district that he is so passionately against.
I encourage all “yes” voters to turn out to vote in favor of the override. And I encourage any “no” voters to rethink your position for your own good, as well as that of your town, our students, and our quality of life.

Since Watson just shared this article again to his page in order to “bust” someone commenting on here as the vandal of his illegal campaign sign, I’d like to just give everyone some food for thought on this….
Watson was called out yesterday at 9:19 am for not filing the required paperwork to the town for his Vote no signs. All day he posts NOTHING. NOTHING. And we all know he couldn’t win a silence contest if there was a 10 million dollar cash prize.
Then, yesterday at 4:47 pm, he posts a pic of his huge illegal sign. Nothing else. Just an “in your face” illegal sign pic so everyone sees it.
What happens next? Miraculously, overnight, in a torrential down pour, his illegal sign is vandalized.
So this takes the focus off of him being a hypocrite and an illegal sign owner and makes him a victim.
And this all sounds plausible to people? Really? The amount of social injustice that this person has been the victim of HAS to be close to mathematically impossible.
I hope no one lets this affect their vote. Because this is the most obvious attempt to sabotage the yes vote I have ever seen. What he is doing is the REAL crime here.
