The proposition 2 1/2 override for the re certified regional school budget passed with 55.4 percent of the vote in Mendon, double the amount of yes votes from the first time around.
2005 voters participated in today’s election with 1112 in favor of the override and 893 against.

I demand another override vote in Upton. I, like many other voters didn’t bother to vote because LEGALLY, the issue had already been resolved with the Mendon no vote. Is this the way things are going to be run around here from now on. We simply keep voting on overrides until the town gets a favorable vote? This is a travesty. It is against the very constitution of our country. Our local government is now no better than those fools and criminals we’ve sent to Washington to allegedly represent us.
