Upton Police report at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Thursday July 9, they responded to a head on collision on Route 140 in the area of the Upton town line which included multiple injuries and one fatality.
The two operators involved in the crash were Molly Anderson, 24, from Northbridge, and Atonia Peneda, 63, from Milford. According to Upton Police Chief Bradley the Upton Police and Fire Department responded to the two vehicle crash.
“Both operators had to be extricated from their vehicles by use of Jaws of Life before being transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center. Molly Anderson suffered serious injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial Medical Center”, said Chief Bradley.
Antonio Peneda suffered serious but non life threatening injuries. Two of his passengers, a 53-year-old woman and a juvenile, were also transported to UMass Memorial with non life threatening injuries.
Anderson was driving a Chevy Cavalier and Peneda a Dodge Caravan.
The crash in under investigation by Upton Police and the Investigators by Central Mass Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction Team.
Route 140 was closed during the accident reconstruction.
