Dot was a 75-year member of the United Parish of Upton who sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and volunteered for many years with the Meals on Wheels program at the Upton Senior Center. Even during her final weeks of declining health, Dot ended each day finding the blessings of that day.

She leaves one son, Harold “Petie” Francis, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Douglas; her daughter Mary Hurlburt and her husband Ken of Upton; a daughter-in-law Betty Francis of Upton; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several precious long-time friends.  Another son, David Francis, passed away in 2005. She was also the sister of the late Donald Wellman.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 5, at 11 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, North Main St., Upton, with Hospice Chaplain Susan Tarantino officiating.

At her request, there are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the United Parish of Upton, Box 382, Upton 01568.
