Seniors John Karlin (New Orleans, LA), Matt Sabetta (Cranston, RI), Peter Salem (Dracut, MA), Cory Stirling (Princeton, MA), Vinny Tavernelli (Plymouth, MA) and Torin Zonfrelli (Carver, MA) all earned their third conference academic accolades as classmates Eric Jorgensen (Upton, MA) and Dylan Stimson (Princeton, MA) were lauded for the first time.
Graduate student Jake Brown (Fall River, MA) was recognized for the first time since 2013 while juniors Chad DellaPorta (Billerica, MA), Paul DePlacido (Billerica, MA), Andrew Dunne (Westford, MA), Joe Igoe (Framingham, MA), Kevin Lynch (East Bridgewater, MA), Trey Pierce (Charleston, SC) and Will Pope (Middlebury, CT) collected their second citation in as many years.
Engineers earning the recognition in their first year of eligibility are Elijah Berger (Upton, MA), Andrew Boynton (Natick, MA), Justin Coppolino (Oakham, MA), Aaron Hartford (Norwell, MA), Conor Hoey (Holyoke, MA), Tyler Marshall (Andover, MA), Logan Mendelson (West Bloomfield, MI), Dereck Pacheco (Barnstable, MA), Blake Rice (North Branford, CT), Brad Scuzzarella (Lynn, MA), Ian Smith (Jacksonville, FL) and Nabeel Tokatli (Worcester, MA).
Student-athletes with a full year in residence at their institution who carry a 3.2 cumulative grade point average into a season of competition qualify for the Liberty League All-Academic Teams. The Liberty League consists of eight football institutions committed to academic excellence: Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Springfield College, St. Lawrence University, Union College, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, University of Rochester and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
