Consulate of Spain Education Advisor Eva Martin Gonzalez (left) visits MU School District

The Spanish Immersion students at both Memorial and Clough were fortunate to have a special visitor on Tuesday afternoon. Eva Martin Gonzalez, the Education Advisor at the Consulate of Spain in Boston, visited the elementary schools on December 15th.

Srta. Martin Gonzalez visits the SI program every year. She provides the program with many resources including authentic Spanish literature, membership in the International Spanish Academies, and Spanish Language Assistants.

This year her visit was especially exciting because she delivered an informative presentation on ‘Holiday Traditions in Spain’.  She spoke on Christmas and New Year’s traditions, as well as other ‘fiestas’ that occur throughout the year in Spain.

The students enjoyed the presentation and had many opportunities to compare and contrast holidays in Spain and the US. The schools are thankful to Srta. Martin Gonzalez for her visit and continued support of the SI program.
